Anastasia Radevich Designs.

I will be the first to tell you that I have a massive shoe fetish. My friends will probably tell you it borderlines on obsessively insane! You’ll probably notice this more and more in my posts and wish lists as my blog grows. But I just adore shoes and the whole craft that goes into the design and sculpture of it. So, I thought I would talk about one of my favourite shoe designers, Ms. Anastasia Radevich.

Originally from Belarus, she now resides in Canada with a distinction diploma from London College of Fashion in footwear design. In her past she has worked along such designers like Also Group in Montreal, All Saints founders’ Bolongaro Trevor brand, and interned under Alexander McQueen and Nicholas Kirkwood before launching her own label in 2009.

What makes Radevich so different from other shoe designers is that she is a footwear artist and treats shoes as a medium for her art. Shoes are her canvas where Anastasia combines art, craft and technology to relay a message, a story or a statement. She is morphing her inner world, inspiration and energy into a sculpture of a pump, open-toe or a boot. So, it’s not shocking to see collections depicting scenes of decay, global warming and mass hazardous manufacturing, as well as collections mirroring beautiful images from nature.

She is an artist with a lot to say and she is communicating her messages in such a unique and bold way. “Staying true to herself and creating from the heart is Anastasia’s mantra.” In my opinion she is a force to be reckoned with and to me, a huge inspiration.
